Boy, 2, runs from mom, hit by car

A 2-YEAR-OLD boy is in critical condition after he let go of his mother’s hand in a Staten Island parking lot and was struck by a car, police said Sunday.

The tot’s mother was walking to her car with her son and other children on the Wagner College campus at Howard and Hillside Aves. when he was able to loosen himself from her grip about 8:20 p.m. Saturday, according to cops.

The boy dashed off and was struck by a 2008 Jeep Liberty, authoritie­s said.

Medics rushed the child to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was in critical condition with trauma to his torso.

The driver of the Jeep remained on the scene and faced no immediate charges.
