Gov, Nixon war of words

RESPONDING TO criticism from gubernatorial challenger Cynthia Nixon, Gov. Cuomo announced his office is soliciting proposals for up to 20 large projects using wind, solar or other renewable energy sources.

The governor and his challenger continue to trade barbs as their respective campaigns roll on.

Nixon’s first campaign visit to Buffalo hit some snags when she had to change venues for a campaign stop twice.

Her campaign blamed Cuomo for interfering, though the governor’s campaign denied any meddling.

Nixon also took the governor to task for not protecting undocumented immigrants.

“It’s more important than ever to have a Governor who is ready to act and prioritize a legislative agenda that makes New York a real sanctuary state,” she tweeted on Friday. “We can start by passing the Liberty Act — a measure that prohibits state and local agencies from assisting ICE agents.”
