WAY TO GO, ME!

Don skips press gala to laud self at rally

- President Trump (right) speaks at rally in Michigan on Saturday, while comedian Michelle Wolf roasted him at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in D.C.

Trump lapped up the adoration of the crowd as he delivered a long-winded address that hit many of his favorite topics: the “dishonest press,” “corrupt Democrats” and his election-night victory.

“Who won the state of Michigan after decades?” Trump said. “I remember that night.”

Trump also touted his role in paving the way for the recent summit between the leaders of North and South Korea.

“I had one of the fake news groups (on) this morning,” Trump said.

“They were saying, ‘What do you think President Trump had to do with it?’ I’ll tell you what. Like how about everything.”

And Trump heaped scorn on Montana Sen. Jon Tester, who released what the President called false allegations that derailed the nomination of White House physician Ronny Jackson for secretary of Veterans Affairs.

“I know things about Tester that I could say, too,” Trump said. “And if I said them, he’d never be elected again.”

Meanwhile, reporters, politicos and powerbrokers descended on the Washington Hilton for a gala that drew far fewer A-list celebrities than in past administrations.

Unlike last year, several White House aides — including spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders and top adviser Kellyanne Conway — chose to attend the event.

“The President encouraged his staff and all of us to attend, so we did,” Sanders said on the red carpet. “We felt like it was important for us to be here.”

Conway added that the President always urges his staff to enjoy themselves.

“He also encourages us to have fun,” Conway said. “He’s a really great boss. And he believes in having a fun and social workplace.”

Among the bold-faced names in attendance were Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer and Parkland, Fla., high school shooting survivor David Hogg.

Comedian Michelle Wolf, best known for her appearances on “The Daily Show,” skewered Trump with a barrage of raunchy jokes.

“Like a porn star says when she's about to have sex with a Trump, let's get this over with,” Wolf said in her opening line.

She later used one of Trump’s most notorious phrases against him. “If you haven't noticed, he’s not here,” Wolf said of the President.

“And I know, I know, I would drag him here myself, but it turns out the President of the United States is the one p---y you’re not allowed to grab. He said it first. Yeah, he did.”
