Mystery death in Central Park

A 22-YEAR-OLD man from upstate was found dead on a Central Park bench with a belt around his neck in an apparent suicide Sunday morning, cops said.

The man, who’s from Rochester, was discovered on 96th St. near Fifth Ave. at about 6:30 a.m., according to authorities.

A dog walker saw him and called 911. There were no obvious signs of trauma.

Medics responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.

It wasn’t clear why the man, whose name was not immediately released, was in the area, officials said.
