New head for Nixon gov run
SIX WEEKS into her Democratic primary campaign against Gov. Cuomo, actress Cynthia Nixon is changing campaign managers, the Daily News has learned.
Out is Nicole Aro, 34, a onetime digital strategist for the national AFL-CIO. In will be Hayley Prim, 30, a principal at Hilltop Public Solutions, which has done work for Mayor de Blasio, sources told The News on Tuesday. According to her online bio, Prim was a high-dollar finance director for de Blasio’s 2013 campaign and worked for the mayor at City Hall as a housing and economic policy analyst. Before joining de Blasio’s campaign in 2012, Prim worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
On Monday, The Root reported Nixon (inset) hired Joy Williams to serve as a senior adviser who will focus on such areas as voter outreach, policy, fund-raising and communications.
Nixon’s camp confirmed the changes.
