‘LAZARUS’ RISING
The David Bowie musical “Lazarus” will be performed in New York City for the first time since the legendary musician’s death — this time on the big screen.
The 2015 musical, featuring nearly 20 original Bowie songs, hits Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre Wednesday as a one-night-only film screening accompanied by a live band.
It’s a bittersweet homecoming. Bowie (above) attended opening night of “Lazarus” at the New York Theatre Workshop in Manhattan on Dec. 7, 2015. One month later, Bowie, 69, died from liver cancer.
