WU-TANG GUY: PHARMA BRO WOULD MAKE A HELL OF A SHOW

-

Wu-Tang rapper RZA thinks the story of Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli being sentenced to seven years of incarceration for securities fraud deserves a Hollywood ending.

“He had a pretty wild life, totally Lex Luthor … a bad superhero life,” RZA (left) told videographer Adam Glyn.

Following his August conviction, Shkreli was ordered to forfeit $7.4 million in assets in March, including a one-of-akind double CD by the Wu-Tang Clan, “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” he’d purchased for $2 million in 2015. That recording became a bone of contention between Shkreli and at least one of RZA’s bandmates after it was revealed that Shkreli had obtained rights to the AIDS drug Daraprim and raised its price from $13 per pill to $750.

“I think that whole incident, that whole little saga, there’s a book about it right now and that book is worthy of a film.” RZA said of “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin: The Untold Story of the Wu-Tang Clan’s Million-Dollar Secret Album, the Devaluation of Music, and America’s New Public Enemy,” which was published in July.
