Assault with a deadly provision

Last week in The Wall Street Journal, conservative economists Arthur Laffer and Stephen Moore predicted, “In the years to come, millions of people, thousands of businesses, and tens of billions of dollars of net income will flee high-tax blue states for low-tax red states,” largely due to the Trump tax bill’s cap on deductibility of state and local taxes.

On Tuesday, AllianceBernstein, a leading investment house, announced it is moving its headquarters from New York City to Nashville, taking more than 1,000 jobs with it.

Blame the Republican Congress and the New Yorker President for cruelly stacking the tax deck against the nation’s most productive city and many of its most dynamic states.
