Jazz gets even with Rockets

Joe Ingles scored a career-high 27 points and Utah used a big fourth quarter to take control and beat Houston on the road, 116-108, on Wednesday night and tie the Western Conference semifinals at 1-1.

The Jazz were behind by two with eight minutes left before using a 16-2 run to pull away. Game 3 is Friday night in Utah.

l The Phoenix Suns have hired Utah Jazz assistant Igor Kokoskov as their new head coach. The 46-year-old Serbian becomes the first NBA head coach born outside the United States.

BOSOX BELT ROYALS

Mookie Betts belted three solo HRs and J.D. Martinez also went deep, powering Boston to a 5-4 home victory over Kansas City.

It was the fourth three-homer game for the 25-year-old Betts, snapping a tie with Hall of Famer Ted Williams for most three-homer games in franchise history.

l Edwin Encarnacio­n homered three times and drove in six runs, helping host Cleveland toa 12-4 win over Texas.

l JaCoby Jones led off the 12th with a triple and scored on John Hicks’ bunt single, lifting Detroit to a 3-2 home win over Tampa Bay.

l Nolan Arenado hit two of the Rockies’ four homers and drove in five runs, lifting Colorado to an 11-2 road win over the Chicago Cubs.

l Nick Hundley matched his career high with four hits, Brandon Crawford broke out of a lengthy slump with three RBI and San Francisco beat San Diego at home, 9-4.

BOLTS, SHARKS WIN

Martin Jones made 34 saves and Marcus Sorensen, Joonis Donskoi, Tomas Hertl and Joe Pavelski scored as San Jose beat Vegas, 4-0, at home and evened the Western Conference semifinal 2-2.

l Ondrej Palat scored twice in the first 3:19 of the game, and Tampa Bay beat host Boston, 4-1, to open a 2-1 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

l Capitals forward Tom Wilson has been suspended three games by the NHL Department of Player Safety. Wilson was discipline­d for an illegal check to the head of Penguins forward Zach Aston-Resse in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday.
