Date with Kim secret, for now
THERE’S A time and a place.
President Trump said Friday that the details of his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will soon be announced.
“We now have a date. And we have a location,” Trump said as he left the White House Friday morning en route to Dallas.
The President predicted “very good things” would come from the potentially historic meeting.
Trump added that withdrawing U.S. troops from South Korea is “not on the table,” countering reports that the military would be pulling forces from the area near the Demilitarized Zone separating the two Koreas.
The New York Times reported Friday that Trump asked the Pentagon to prepare plans for scaling back the U.S. military presence in South Korea, as he has complained that the ally does not do enough to financially support the commitment.
National security adviser John Bolton called the report, “utter nonsense” in a statement Friday.
