Nixon makes a tokin’ gesture
A PLETHORA of pot lovers seemed positively stoked when reefer-friendly gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon arrived at a rally in Union Square Saturday.
Nixon brought the crowd to a new high when she reiterated her support for legalizing marijuana and declared that she would prioritize neighborhoods of color for licenses to sell it.
“If you are black or Latino, you are 10 times more likely to be arrested for cannabis than if you are white. And that’s not right,” Nixon said to cheers at the NYC Cannabis Parade.
“It will follow you for the rest of your life, that arrest, and it will make it harder for you to get a job and it will make it harder for you to get a place to live,” she added.
