WEB IS HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF
Michelle Wolf's polarizing jokes at the White House Correspondents' Dinner may not have won her any fans in the White House, but they sure won over the internet.
The "Daily Show" comedian, 32, landed the No. 1 spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s list of top comedians on social media for the week of May 2, or, the week after she took the stage as host of the annual dinner.
Wolf rocketed into the public eye on Saturday thanks to her razor-sharp jokes, which came at the expense of many of President Trump's inner circle, including Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Her knock on Sanders in particular drew heavy criticism from some who viewed the joke as an insult to the press secretary's appearance.
"I actually really like Sarah. I think she's very resourceful," Wolf (left) joked. "She burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smoky eye. Like maybe she's born with it, maybe it's lies. It's probably lies."
Wolf defended herself on Twitter in response to criticism from "Morning Joe" host Mika Brzezinski, and clarified that she wasn't talking about Sanders’ appearance, just her job performance.
