On-ground JFK tragedy
A KENNEDY AIRPORT security guard was killed Sunday after his vehicle plowed through a fence and flipped over in a JFK parking lot, officials said.
The driver, whose name was not immediately released, lost control of his vehicle and broke through a chain-link fence on Lefferts Blvd. near Pan Am Road in Queens about 3:45 a.m., according to authorities.
The guard, an employee of Allied Universal, smashed into several cars parked in a longterm parking lot before his vehicle flipped and burst into flames.
First responders worked to free the man from the burning wreckage. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, but could not be saved, officials said.
