New York City Public Advocate Letitia James, 59 U.S. Rep. Kathleen Rice, 53, of Nassau County, a former district attorney and federal prosecutor Fordham Law Prof. Zephyr Teachout, 46, who challenged Gov. Cuomo and lost in 2014
State Sen. Todd Kaminsky, 39, of Nassau County, who is a former federal prosecutor State Sen. Michael Gianaris, 48, of Queens
Ben Lawsky, 48, a former chief of staff to Cuomo
Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, 49, whom President Trump fired State Sen. Brad Hoylman, 52, of Manhattan Former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner, 48 With Schneiderman’s resignation effective at the end of business on Tuesday, it will fall to the Legislature to name a replacement who will serve until the term expires in January. The state Democratic Party is set to nominate its attorney general candidate at its convention on May 23.
