Ex-con arrested in stab slaying of gun-carrying foe
HE TOOK a knife to a gunfight — and won.
An ex-con faces murder charges after he stabbed a gun-toting rival to death outside a Brooklyn smoke shop, police sources said.
Cops arrested Kyle Mead, 39, in the Friday killing of 26-year-old Clifton Graves outside the Franklin Smoke Shop in Crown Heights.
Graves had a gun on him when Mead knifed him several times in the chest on Franklin Ave. near Union St. at about 5:20 p.m., sources said. Police found Graves about a block away, on Bedford Ave. at Union St.
The two had argued moments before the bloodshed, cops said.
Mead was sentenced to two years behind bars for a 2007 weapon-possession conviction, public records show.
