SAQUON A HALL OF FAMER?

Hall of Famer Harry Carson said of Giants No. 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley: “The last time the Giants had the No. 2 pick of the NFL Draft they drafted Lawrence Taylor. So I expect him to become a Hall of Famer at some point.”

Mara didn’t want to put so much pressure on his new stud running back, but he is thrilled Gettleman took him and believes Barkley can handle New York and the expectations.

“I think he’s up to it,” Mara said. “As Bill Parcells used to say, ‘Let’s not get his bust ready for Canton just yet.’ He hasn’t played a down, but we’re very excited about him obviously.”
