Harvey allows just one hit in Cincy

METS FANS may not want to believe this, but ya gotta — Matt Harvey looked good in his debut for the Cincinnati Reds. Or at least a lot better than he had over the last month in Flushing.

The former Dark Knight of Gotham made his first start with the Reds on Friday night and gave up only one hit, which was the result of a Reds outfielder losing the ball in the lights. He went four innings and struck out two in his Cincy debut, which was shortened because the Reds were keeping him under a pitch count.

But don’t be fooled just yet. Harvey also pulled the wool over the Mets faithful in his first start of 2018, when the righthande­r went five gutsy innings against the Phillies and allowed just one hit.

At the time it seemed there was hope for Harvey to reclaim at least a shred of his super hero status, but it didn’t last. After three starts of allowing a combined 14 runs, Harvey was demoted to the bullpen by new Mets manager Mickey Callaway.
