The NBA’s Final Four, classic Yanks-Sox & Saquon vs. Darnold . . .

It is interesting that at the start of the NBA season, we expected the Final Four to be the Warriors, Rockets, Cavs, Celtics.

It just turned out to be a lot more interesting for the Cavs and Celtics to get there than we ever thought it would be.

The Celtics lost early and then late, but here they are anyway, reminding the world why is one of the great executives in modern NBA history, and why is the best basketball coach working right now, in either college or the pros. And by the way? Imagine how much more fun the Eastern Conference finals would be if Kyrie were in the gym, doing the same things for his new team the way he used to when he was LeBron’s wingman in Cleveland?

The Rockets won 65 this season in the regular season, which is seven more than the Warriors.

But it is always worth remembering that missed 31 games. It’s kind of a lot. I just continue to believe that when he’s healthy, and he seems to be healthy again, the Warriors are demonstrably better than the Rockets, and will prove it in the Western Conference finals. Going into Saturday’s games, the Angels had the most interesting record in baseball:

23-9 against everybody except the Red Sox and Yankees, against whom they are 0-6 so far.

Those six games, incidentally, were played in Anaheim.

I set 10 minutes as the over-under number for when first used the word “mecca” the other day. Bet the under. Won. Red Sox vs. Yankees this week at the Stadium was as compelling a May series in baseball as you could ever possibly see.

You know there are Sixers fans wondering if could be the kind of transformative coach out of college for their team the way Stevens has been for the Celtics. You have to say that

is doing pretty much everything you’re supposed to do as a free-agent-to-be in baseball. Everything and more. Still a head-scratcher that

didn’t give a swing in the first game of the Red Sox-Yankees series on Tuesday night. It got lost underneath the roar of

100 mph stuff in those 9th innings, but

got an out as big as any all week, when he struck out

when it was still 6-5 for the Red Sox Wednesday night, eighth inning, second and third and nobody out.

You can’t be a big pitcher for the Red Sox and not be able to pitch against the Yankees. And can’t. I want to watch play for the Giants as much as anybody. But say it again: If the Jets are right about the Giants were wrong. Wait a second, I know I’m not always up enough on what’s happening in the NHL at this time of year.

But is it true that a team from The Strip in Vegas might win Lord Stanley’s Cup?

Maybe we should move the Rangers to Atlantic City.

such an amazing mom to our four children, inspiring them to find their best selves the way she has always done the same with me.

And Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, who continues to remind everyone in her world just how much heart she has.

And how being a mom for her was the role of a lifetime.
