Cannibal Cop cohort can’t stomach prison

PRISON BITES.

A Trenton pervert convicted in the “Cannibal Cop” scandal says he’s struggled for four months to get federal prison officials to treat his ingrown toenails and holes in a tooth.

Michael Van Hise, 28, was convicted in 2014 of conspiring to kidnap, torture, rape and murder multiple women and girls. He was arrested the year before as the FBI investigated dark fetish websites where so-called Cannibal Cop Gilberto Valle shared online fantasies about eating women.

In two letters to Manhattan Federal Court Judge Paul Gardephe, Van Hise wrote he’s suffering from two infected toenails, two holes in a tooth “that could break any day,” a jaw-joint disorder and an impacted tooth. The letters were posted last month in court records.

“The staff at (Metropolitan Correctional Center) were aware of my issues but did not take care of them,” said Van Hise, who has since been transferred to Metropolitan Detention Center.

Federal officials have yet to take him to a podiatrist or dentist off jail grounds, he said.

On Monday, the Daily News revealed that Valle had abandoned an effort to reenter his daughter’s life after a two-year custody battle with his ex-wife. Though Gardephe acquitted Valle of criminal charges, the allegations against him still factored in the custody case.

Gardephe has ruled that while there was not enough evidence Valle wanted his fantasies to become reality, Van Hise took concrete steps to carry out his sick fetish. The former auto mechanic is to be sentenced June 19.
