Drury to Scranton; Miggy stays
WASHINGTON — It’s still Miguel Andujar’s job at third. The Yankees announced Monday that Brandon Drury was activated from the disabled list but assigned to Triple-A Scranton, meaning Andujar will remain at the hot corner on the big-league roster.
Though he hasn’t recorded an extra-base hit since April 28, Andujar is hitting .282 and had five singles in the team’s threegame series over the weekend against Oakland. Overall, the 23-year-old has three homers and 12 doubles. Drury has been sidelined since April 7 due to migraines and blurred vision. His 20-day rehab assignment came to an end on Monday.
In other injury news, Greg Bird (ankle surgery) and Billy McKinney (shoulder) both had their minor-league rehab assignments moved to Double-A Trenton on Monday from Class A Tampa.
At Triple-A Scranton, the team placed 22-year-old lefty pitching prospect Justus Sheffield on the 7-day minor-league DL due to shoulder tightness.
RED THUNDER PUSH
Clint Frazier, his concussion seemingly behind him, has been tearing up Triple-A Scranton, hitting .362. Still, the 23-yearold outfielder, who has been spending some time in center, remains blocked at the majorleague level.
“He’s doing everything he needs to do from his end,” GM Brian Cashman said.
