DRAFT ORDER IS A BUMMER
CHICAGO – The Knicks stood pat. With GM Scott Perry sitting on the dais, the Knicks took the ninth pick in Tuesday’s draft lottery and, as a result, continued their 33-year streak of failing to move up from their position in the lottery standings.
At least they didn’t move down like last year.
“Of course you want to win any contest or lottery,” Perry said. “But coming into it my expectations were very measured, knowing what the odds were. I’m just happy we didn’t move back. We stayed consistent with odds.”
With their position in place, the Knicks will begin interviewing prospects today ahead of the combine in Chicago. Perry said the Knicks contingent for the interviews will include himself, president Steve Mills, coach David Fizdale, assistant GM Gerald Madkins and a couple of scouts.
