Cop busted in order violation
THE SOUSED SPOUSE of 2009 U.S. Open champ Lucas Glover beat the golfer and his mother during a domestic dustup on Saturday, calling the pro a “p---y” and a “loser” for falling out of his latest tournament, according to Florida cops.
Krista Glover, 36, was arrested over the weekend and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest after police were called to the Ponte Vedra Beach rental house where the family was staying, according to the St. John’s County Sheriff’s office arrest report.
Glover had been drinking all day and started to get on her husband about missing the 54-hole cut of The Players Championship, police said.
Initially, she told police the golfer’s 62-year-old mother, Hershey Hendley, attacked her, though police found no signs of injury on the wife.
Lucas Glover, 38, also tried tell cops all was well, but cuts on his and Hendley’s bloodied clothes told a different story.
The mother-in-law told cops she tried to intervene while the couple argued in front of her and their two young children but Krista began to assault her.
When the officers tried to arrest her, Krista Glover tried to wriggle away from cops and refused get into the patrol car, police said.
Once inside the vehicle, the 5-foot-7 Glover kicked the door, and she tried to take off when two deputies loosened her handcuffs, police said.
“This is why cops get shot in the face,” she allegedly told the officers. “Wait till I talk to the judge, you will be f---ing fired over this.” Police took pains to note that they were not harmed. Glover was released from jail Sunday on $2,500 bond, and ordered to stay away from her husband.
If convicted, she could spend one year in jail on each misdemeanor count.
Lucas Glover told deputies that whenever he plays a bad round of golf, his wife starts up on him, telling him “how he is a ‘loser’ and ‘p---y,’ how he needs to fire everyone and how he better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see the kids again,” the police report said.
Glover downplayed the incident in a statement on Twitter Tuesday.
“On May 12, my wife and mother were involved in an argument to which the police were called,” he wrote. “Everyone is fine. Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter. We thank you for respecting our privacy as we work through this unfortunate situation.”
Lucas Glover made the third round at the TPC Sawgrass course last week, but shot 6-over 78 and was cut from the tournament.
The South Carolina native, who has lifetime earnings of more than $20 million, is ranked 95th on the PGA tour. AN OFF-DUTY cop was arrested Tuesday afternoon when he visited his mother’s Staten Island home because he violated a court order to keep away from his sister, law enforcement sources said.
Officer Michael Holman was embroiled in a domestic incident involving his sister months ago, although the details of that fallout were not disclosed.
When the case went to court, a judge approved a request for an order of protection against Holman, barring him from being near his sibling, sources said.
On Tuesday morning, Holman, who’s been a cop for just over five years, showed up at his mother’s home to take care of her.
When his sister showed up later, she called police, claiming he was violating the court order.
Police took Holman into custody, charging him with criminal contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor.
Holman works in Manhattan but lives on Staten Island, officials said.
His arraignment was pending, cops said.
