$10M kid-drag
A STATEN ISLAND mom whose toddler daughter took a fatal dose of painkillers last year, left her pills near the tot’s toys — and it wasn’t the first time she left meds out for her kids to find, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Years before Leila Wade’s 1-year-old daughter, Bianca Abdul died of a morphine and diazepam overdose, her older daughter OD’ed on prescription drugs and survived, prosecutors said.
Wade, 39, was arraigned on manslaughter and other charges for Bianca’s March 20, 2017, death.
“She left this medication in her house within reach of her child,” Assistant District Attorney Rhiannon La Tour said.
Wade was ordered held on $150,000 bail.
