No action yet again from Prez
It took until March for the Trump administration to roll out a proposal to amend regulations on the devices.
But the proposal, which remains under Justice Department review, will likely do little to effectively ban bump stocks, since the government can only do so much to prohibit the devices without congressional help. Trump has not lobbied Congress on the matter, and the NRA opposes a ban.
A few hours after his White House speech Friday, Trump took to Twitter to offer more platitudes. “To the students, families, teachers and personnel at Santa Fe High School — we are with you in this tragic hour,” Trump tweeted. “We will be with you forever...”
