I wish I was there: father of the bride

MEGHAN Markle’s dad wishes he could have attended his daughter's wedding after having to back out for emergency heart surgery.

The 73-year-old told TMZ his daughter looked beautiful on her big day and he wished he could’ve been there.

“My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness,” Thomas Markle (photo inset) told TMZ on Saturday.

He added the ceremony was both emotional and joyful, TMZ reported.

Thomas Markle suffered a heart attack last week and had surgery Wednesday. Prince Charles, Harry’s father, walked Markle, 36, down the aisle. Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is divorced from her father, was in attendance to watch her daughter become the Duchess of Sussex.
