Meet freelance video producer, Vin Arfuso

-

Vincent Arfuso, 25, grew up in Fort Lee, and has returned as one of Bergen County’s young innovators. After graduating from Fordham, he went to film school for a short period of time and thought, for him at least, that it was a waste of money. From there he invested in a camera and started convincing businesses to let him shoot content for their social media platforms in order to advertise. Not long after, he was hired on a Johnnie Walker commercial, and other work started coming in from movies, documentaries, network television shows—all while doing videography work, shooting and editing personal projects for clients with a large social media following. According to Arfuso, it’s an easier way to broadcast and/or advertise. “Back in the day, it would cost you a fortune to shoot something, have it edited, and then pay for television airtime,” says Arfuso. “Today, you can hire one person (yes, that’s me pitching myself) to do all of it and use social media marketing tactics to generate views, essentially achieving the same goal as for a TV commercial, for less than half of what you’d normally pay.”

When asked why he’s trying to make it in Bergen County rather than move across the river to NYC, Arfuso said it was an easy choice.

“I believe Bergen County is the best place to live in the world. You’re just minutes from the city, an hour from the beach, an hour from the countryside; plus it’s just such a great place to grow up. Aside from the great school systems, it’s so culturally and socioeconomically diverse, you can learn a lot growing up here. In most other parts of the country people are strictly limited to seeing the same everything, all the time.”
