Boy running from cop paralyzed in tumble

- John Annese

A TEENAGER is paralyzed from the neck down after a police officer fell on him during a chase in Brooklyn early Sunday, cops said.

The boy, who is 17, was attending a quinceañera party in Sunset Park when a brawl broke out just before 2:30 a.m., cops said.

Four officers — two in uniform, two in plainclothes, all men — responded to the Widdi Catering Hall on Sixth Ave. near 56th St. and tried to break up the melee outside.

One cop moved to apprehend the teen, who bolted and ran a distance before falling against a parked car.

The officer pursuing him tumbled on top of him, causing a “critical spine injury,” a police source said.

“Apparently he’s paralyzed from the neck down,” the source said.

Medics took the teen to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition.

The NYPD’s Force Investigation Division is looking into the incident, sources said.
