NOT EVEN a website that calls itself America’s finest news source can escape the fake news debate.

The Onion — a satirical web publicatio­n — said Monday it got a cease-and-desist email in 2013 from President Trump’s attack dog lawyer Michael Cohen.

Cohen was ired by an Onion op-ed piece purportedl­y authored by Trump and headlined: “When You’re Feeling Low, Just Remember I’ll Be Dead in About 15 Or 20 Years.” ALBANY — It’s back to the future — or more realistica­lly 2016 — on Wednesday as President Trump and the Democrat he defeated, Hillary Clinton, will both appear at events on Long Island.

In the note, Cohen indignantl­y calls the op-ed “absolutely disgusting.” Cohen tweeted Monday that the note he wrote is fake: “Maybe all of you #haters #trolls missed the memo but @TheOnion is a news “SATIRE” Organizati­on. That means . . . it’s not real! #GetALife.”

But an Onion spokesman echoed CNN, The New York Times and other regular targets of Trump’s ire by saying the 2013 email is “indeed real.” expected to focus on MS-13 gang violence.

Meanwhile, Clinton will be at Hofstra University to deliver the keynote address at the opening day of the two-day state Democratic Party convention.
