‘Hammer’ heist

- John Annese

A ROBBER with a hammer held up a boutique jewelry store in Brooklyn and stole $79,000 worth of gems Wednesday, cops said.

The bandit walked into Erica Weiner Jewelry on Atlantic Ave. at Hoyt St. in Boerum Hill at about noon, hammer in hand, and told the workers, “I’m robbing you. Where is the safe and cash?” cops said.

He moved the employees to the back of the store, had one of them open the display cases, and stuffed his backpack with about 62 pieces of jewelry, valued at $79,000, police said.
