Kush gets a security clearance

- Chris Sommerfeldt

JARED KUSHNER got his White House security clearance back Wednesday, just as his lawyer confirmed the son-in-law and senior adviser to President Trump recently sat down for a second interview with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators.

Kushner was stripped of his temporary clearance in February amid an overhaul of White House security protocols that followed the resignation of Rob Porter. The staff secretary had been allowed to stay on despite abuse allegations from two ex-wives.

For weeks, the White House blamed Kushner’s clearance hiccup on administrative issues, but the delay was likely a consequence of Kushner failing to list dozens of foreign contacts in his application. A person familiar with the matter told the Daily News that Kushner finally received his permanent clearance on Wednesday.

Kushner, 37, who’s married to the President’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, worked on the campaign and has been brought into Mueller’s investigation into possible Russian collusion. His attorney, A Abbe Lowell, confirmed W Wednesday that Kushner sat down last month for a second interview with the Mueller team. He was first interviewed in November.
