Butchered in an S.I. fight over woman
A 42-YEAR-OLD man was fatally stabbed during a gathering at a Staten Island home, police said Thursday.
Filroy Warner was visiting a third-floor apartment on Navy Pier Court near Front St. in Stapleton at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday when he was stabbed more than six times in the chest and arms, cops said.
Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said two men and a woman were in the apartment when an argument started over the woman. He also said police have identified a suspect.
Medics rushed Warner to Richmond University Medical Center, where he died. His girlfriend, Maritza Francis, rushed to the scene of his death Thursday morning.
“I’m heartbroken,” she said through sobs. “I’m shocked. I came to get (answers), to see what happened.”
She described Warner as respectful and generous, adding “he was a good father.”
“I have no idea (who would do this to him),” she added.
Warner’s daughter posted a Facebook message Thursday with a picture of her as a little girl with her dad and the message, “I love you dad. I wish I got to tell you bye.”
