CIVIL RIGHTS activists called on the NYPD Friday to sideline a cop they accused of tasing and wrongly arresting a National Guardsman in the Bronx.

Protesters gathered in Mount Hope to criticize Officer Jefferson Martinez for the arrest of Calvin Moreland, 27, on May 15.

“We’re calling for Officer Martinez to be placed on modified duty until this investigation is complete. This case is sealed, but it’s not sealed in our community,” Rev. Kevin McCall said.

Moreland was heading home from the gym when he heard sirens coming from the corner of Montgomery and Popham Aves. He was forced to make a right turn on a red light as he was blocked by oncoming traffic.

Martinez, of the 46th Precinct, pulled up and got out of his car and demanded Moreland’s license, the Bronx man said.

When Moreland tried to unfasten his belt, Officer Martinez tased him in the stomach.

“I have two lacerations on my side. When I got tased, I couldn’t move . ... It’s like you get muscle spasms throughout your whole body,” Moreland said.

The NYPD did respond to a request for comment.
