Block Harlem bodega

- BY MOLLY CRANE-NEWMAN and ROCCO PARASCANDOLA

FIVE NATIONAL Action Network activists were busted for disorderly conduct Friday after blocking the entrance to a Harlem bodega they said sells the drug K2.

The arrests occurred at 125th St. and Lexington Ave., said to be Manhattan’s K2 epicenter.

“We have gotten reports from the community that at least 36 people have overdosed out of this store selling K2,” said the Rev. Kevin McCall (above). “This is something we have to address in our community.”

McCall said Friday’s protest echoes those of an earlier era. “Just like they did in the ’80s with the crack epidemic, we are doing now in the 21st century,” he said.

“That s--t is poison,” said Harlem resident Lerone Wilson, 49. “They sell it everywhere.”

McCall was among those arrested, protesters said.

During the demonstration, EMTs nearby tended to overdose victims while flower-crown wearing hipsters were heading to the Governors Ball on Randalls Island.

Before the demonstrators went to 125th and Lexington, they protested in front of three Harlem shops they said also sell the potentially deadly synthetic marijuana.

For the past week, police fighting the K2 scourge have focused on Myrtle Ave. and Broadway in Bushwick.

Police believe a more-toxic-than-usual batch of the drug has been sold in recently in that area, leading to 240 overdoses. None so far have been fatal.

The NYPD Thursday raided a Brownsville home and seized more than 1,000 packages of K2, many in colorful packages with street names like “Hulk” and “Scooby Snacks.”

Four suspects were arrested, bringing to more than 70 the number of people charged since last week.
