Women at risk for killing selves

- Leonard Greene

SUICIDE IS among the top 10 leading causes of death among middle-age women.

More than 10,000 women take their own lives each year, and 28 women commit suicide daily in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Julie Cerel, president of the American Association of Suicidology, warned in a statement: “Women of any socio-demographic group can die by suicide.

“People who are suicidal often find it difficult to see past their successes, their families or anything but their current struggle.”

Experts urged friends and family to look for warning signs, including financial, professional and relationship troubles.
