Grid goon held in woman grab

AN NFL player has been arrested on charges that he spit on a woman and grabbed her by the neck, according to a report.

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Chris McCain was charged with battery months after a Jan. 7 incident in Los Angeles, according to TMZ Sports.

If convicted, McCain faces up to six months in jail plus fines and probation. McCain, 26, played college ball at the University of California at Berkeley and was initially signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

Last month, domestic violence charges against a San Francisco 49ers player, Ruben Foster, were dropped after a judge ruled there was not enough evidence. Two members of the NFL Players Association’s panel on domestic violence resigned in protest, saying the group has done little on the issue.
