First-class education for less than you’d expect

-

In this economy, savvy students are making the smart choice to stay at or near home to complete their core classes. Kingsborough Community College (KCC), part of The City University of New York (CUNY), offers over 70 degree and certificate programs designed to let you start your career after earning your associate’s degree or certificate, or transfer and complete a 4-year degree without busting your bank account. You’ll get a firstclass education while spending less than you’d expect to spend at a four-year college.

Approximately 80% of all CUNY students graduate debtfree; nearly 7 out of 10 full-time undergraduates have their low tuition fully covered by state and federal grants.

KCC is an Achieving the Dream Leader College, and was recently identified as an Aspen Prize Top 10 Community College, eligible to compete for the $1 million 2019 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence—the only community college in the northeast to be selected. Both national designations recognize the college’s commitment to improving student success and closing achievement gaps.

While you have the option of continuing on to a 4-year college, many students choose to go directly into the workforce. Two-year degree programs are available leading to jobs in such fields as criminal justice, substance abuse counseling, culinary arts, maritime technology, tourism and hospitality, community health, fashion design, and more. Kingsborough graduates can be found throughout NYC working as police officers, nurses, sleep technologists, physical therapist assistants, daycare operators, hotel managers, TV and radio hosts, and graphic designers.

If you plan on continuing at a senior CUNY college after graduating, as a Kingsborough graduate, you are guaranteed admission into a 4-year CUNY college. CUNY’s Common Core Pathways allows you to transfer your general education credits, which means you won’t lose time towards earning your bachelor’s degree. KCC also has articulation agreements with many senior public and private schools, allowing students who major in specific programs to save time and money while pursuing a higher degree.

Studies show that being surrounded with beautiful views, architecture, and art work is conducive to learning – and Kingsborough’s beautiful 70acre campus, located in Brooklyn’s Manhattan Beach neighborhood, doesn’t disappoint. Between classes, you can find quiet places to study, or to gaze at the waterfront that hugs the campus on three sides. The campus footprint also includes a private beach; a marina; and an urban farm, which, in addition to providing free freshly grown produce for students to consume and culinary arts classes to cook, is used by earth science students as a hands-on laboratory.

To learn more about Kingsborough, attend an open house or an admission information session where you can talk with advisors, tour the campus, and have your questions answered.
