COPS ARE investigating whether revenge was served up cold on a Bronx man.

Kevin Cruz, 26, was shot at the Nelson Playground in Highbridge on Thursday, just hours after he was freed from prison.

It’s possible he was shot in retaliation for carrying out a shooting that got him locked up for three years, said police.

The shooting went down at 5:15 p.m. Thursday. A 13-year-old girl was wounded in the gunplay.

Both Cruz and the teenage girl were wounded in the leg. They were taken to Lincoln Hospital, and are both expected to recover.

Police are looking for three suspects in the shooting.

Earlier Thursday, Cruz ended a three-year prison stretch on a second-degree assault conviction for his role in a March 13, 2015, drug-related shooting that went down just a block away. Two men were wounded in that incident.

Cruz had just visited his parole officer before he was shot.
