Bus driver asks for fare, teens jump him
FOUR TEENS jumped a bus driver in the Bronx after he demanded one of them pay the fare, police said Tuesday.
Cops on Tuesday released surveillance images of the four assailants and asked for the public’s help identifying them.
The 38-year-old bus driver told cops he picked up the four teens as he drove his Liberty Lines W60 bus into the Bronx from New Rochelle in Westchester County about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
When one of the teens waltzed aboard without paying, the bus driver demanded he pay the fare.
“Just drive the f-----g bus,” the teen responded as he ran to the back of the bus to be with his friends, according to cops.
When the driver pulled into a stop at Conner St. and Boston Road in Eastchester, the teens punched and kicked him as they ran off the bus, officials said.
They were last seen running off down Boston Road.
The bus driver was not seriously hurt.
Police described the assailants as black and between 16 and 19. One was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a black backpack. Another had a white hoodie and darkcolored pants. Anyone with info is asked to call (800) 577-TIPS.
