Giant lizard sparks 911 gator call

- Mikey Light

There hasn’t been a lizard this size in Manhattan since the ill-fated 1998 “Godzilla” movie.

A 911 caller reported a vicious “alligator or lizard” to authorities Friday on the corner of 13th St. and Broadway around 1:30 p.m.

The scaly scamp can be seen chilling on the street while sporting a collar and leash in a video posted to the online app Citizen.

A man can be heard conversing with onlookers in the video.

“You can pet him,” says the voice, presumably of the lizard’s owner.

One brave young man saunters up to the lizard to give it a little pat on the head — then promptly rubs sanitizer on his hands from a bottle conveniently placed beside the beast.
