Hey, that’ll ‘Teach’ ’em in AG race

- Kenneth Lovett and Elizabeth Elizalde

Fordham Law Prof. Zephyr Teachout was endorsed Thursday for state attorney general by one of the Democratic Party's rising stars — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio-Cortez , a firsttime candidate who garnered national attention after beating powerful Queens Rep. Joseph Crowley in last month's Democratic congressional primary, called Teachout a “mentor” and a “shining example for the progressive movement in New York State.”

Teachout is running in a four-way Democratic primary on Sept. 13 against Public Advocate Letitia James, Hudson Valley Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, and former Gov. Cuomo and Hillary Clinton aide Leecia Eve.

Teachout was the first public figure to back Ocasio-Cortez.

“She's totally fearless,” Teachout said as the two stood in front of the “Charging Bull” statue near Wall St.

“She's totally committed to the people whose voices are silenced by corporate money, to poor and working class Americans.”
