“Live Your Life” rapper T.I. has been charged with simple assault, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct resulting from an incident that occurred outside the gated community in suburban Atlanta where he lives.

On May 16, T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, returned to his Stockbridge, Ga., home after a night out and didn’t have his keys. That resulted in an altercation with a security guard, which led to the police being called.

According to the Associated Press, Henry County Deputy Police Chief Mike Ireland said at the time that Harris, was eventually allowed inside, but came back to further confront the guard. When authorities arrived, Harris was taken into custody. He was later released on bond.

Harris’s attorney Steve Sadow told news outlets that the solicitor general’s filings against his client on Friday were "baseless, ill-founded and unjustified."

The 37-year-old rapper has had numerous run-ins with the law including a probation violation that resulted in an 11-month prison sentence in 2010.
