Taxi King to pay $1.3M for sex harass

- BY ANDREW KESHNER

The so-called “Taxi King” has to pay a princely sum — he’s been ordered to fork over $1.3 million to a former worker who accused him of sexual harassment.

Taxi tycoon Evgeny (Gene) Freidman didn’t bother fighting Elaine Gutierrez’s claims that Freidman rudely remarked on her body — even in front of her daughter — ogled the woman and angled to be alone with her after hours.

In June, Magistrate Judge Vera Scanlon recommended the damages award, noting the 40-year-old was still “visibly upset” about the indecent dealings.

A Brooklyn federal judge on Monday signed off on the award. But before defaulting in the case, Freidman tried trashing Gutierrez’s lawyer in profane emails.

Gutierrez’s lawyer, Lawrence Pearson, said his client was “very pleased that the court has formally adopted the recommendation and granted judgment against Mr. Freidman and his company. In the #MeToo era, the message is clear: no one, not even the so-called ‘taxi king,’ is above the law when it comes to workplace sexual harassment.”

Freidman copped to felony tax fraud in May for not paying $5 million in taxes on his business.

He could not be reached for comment.

Freidman was in the taxi medallion business with Trump’s onetime fixer Michael Cohen. Freidman has denied reports he’s talking to authorities about Cohen.
