Cambage scores record 53 vs. Liberty

-

Elizabeth Cambage scored 53 points to set a WNBA record Tuesday, leading the host Dallas Wings to a 104-87 victory over the Liberty.

The 6-foot-8 Australian reached 50 points on a three-point play with 2:19 left and broke Riquna Williams' WNBA record of 51 points, set Sept. 8, 2013, on a 3-pointer from the top of the key.

Cambage was 17-for-22 from the field with 10 rebounds and five blocks. She made 15 of 16 free throws and outscored the Liberty's starting lineup by 10 points.

Kia Nurse scored 25 points, for the Liberty (7-15).

CARDS SUSPEND GM

The Arizona Cardinals suspended GM Steve Keim for five weeks and fined him $200,000 after he pleaded guilty to extreme DUI following a Fourth of July arrest in a Phoenix suburb.

A Chandler police report shows Keim had a blood-alcohol level of 0.19, more than twice Arizona's legal limit of 0.08. It wasn't clear when Keim would be sentenced or if he was facing a jail term.
