Prez launches mother of all Twitter rants against Iran
Good thing he can’t use Twitter to launch a nuclear attack.
President Trump used his favorite social media platform late Sunday to deliver an all-caps warning to Iran, firing back at that country’s leader with a blistering tweet that raised the stakes in a weekend war of words. After locking the shift key, the President went on a tirade meant to show Iran and Trump’s followers he means business.
“To Iranian President Rouhani:,” Trump tweeted. “Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death. Be cautious!”
Trump did not specify the consequences.
Trump’s missive appeared to be a response to a speech earlier by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in which he warned of a “mother of all wars” if the United States attacked the Islamic Republic.
“Mr. Trump, don’t play with the lion’s tail,” Rouhani warned. “America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars.”
