Flocking to their friend
Roomie & beau hunted in slay
The hunt for the killer of a Brooklyn nurse found wrapped like a mummy in an apartment closet focused Tuesday on the victim’s mysteriously missing roommate and her boyfriend, police sources told the Daily News.
Cops have not identified the roommate or her beau, describing the couple only as persons of interest in the death of Kyimar Thein.
Thein, 58, a nurse at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, was found bound, gagged and wrapped in a bedsheet inside her East Flatbush home on Lenox Road about 7 a.m. Saturday.
Sobbing co-workers said Thein was wrapped “like a mummy” when cops found her body. The colleagues told the News that Thein had taken in her roommate, who was also a nurse at SUNY Downstate, about two months ago.
The roommate had a jealous boyfriend who would show up at the hospital looking for her, the co-workers said.
A neighbor said Thein was planning to change the locks to her front door — possibly over a disagreement with the roommate.
