The fourth edition of the Hudson River Derby led to NYCFC’s worst loss in the club’s young history. Dax McCarty got the scoring started with a third-minute goal and the Red Bulls led 3-0 at halftime. McCarty and Bradley Wright-Phillips led the Red Bulls attack with a pair of goals each. The Red Bulls added two goals in the game’s final 10 minutes to tie for the largest margin in MLS history at seven goals.
