Gang dope beaten, shot in bid to mug Bronx man
A Bronx gangbanger was beaten to a pulp after he tried to rob a rival, police sources said Friday.
Not only was 21-year-old Juana Blume pummeled by his would-be victim’s friends, police say the mugger either shot himself or was shot by an accomplice, sources said.
Blume and a buddy allegedly tried to hold up a 32-year-old man on Creston Ave. near E. 182nd St. in Fordham Heights on Tuesday.
But the tables quickly turned when the man refused to hand over his jewelry and put Blume in a bear hug, cops said.
Soon, about a half-dozen of the victim’s friends showed up and piled on Blume — and the whole thing was caught on video.
Footage shot by someone who lives near the scene shows Blume being dragged between two cars, where he is pounded with fists and, finally, a baseball bat.
During the struggle, Blume’s gun went off, police said. A bullet tore into his arm and grazed the man he was fighting with.
His friend can be seen picking up the pistol and aiming at Blume and another man, but it’s not clear if he fired a shot.
Police found Blume, who is allegedly a member of the Mac Ballers street gang, sprawled out on the street, broken and bloody.
He refused to cooperate with first responders who rushed him to Bronx Lebanon Hospital.
Blume is facing robbery and weapons possession charges.
The mob who beat him remains at large.
