Nixon hits Cuomo wine buys
ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo's campaign, which has delighted in linking Democratic primary opponent Cynthia Nixon to her cosmo-drinking character Miranda Hobbes from “Sex And The City”, spent nearly $12,265 in February stocking the governor's mansion with New York wine.
Cuomo, according to his July campaign finance filing, purchased the vino from 10 New York wineries.
“The governor's campaign spends a lot of time talking about the lifestyle of a fictional character Cynthia played, but in reality, he's the one spending thousands on wine to keep his corrupt donors happy,” Nixon campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said.
Cuomo's campaign spokeswoman Abbey Collins said the wine was purchased for governmental functions, but paid for by the campaign to spare taxpayers' expense.
