Young cliff vics’ home sanitized

Investigators in Clark County, Wash., combed through the Hart family home in the days after their SUV plunged off a cliff in northern California, desperate to find the kids still missing after the deadly crash — instead they found a house with little hint that the six children who once resided there had ever even been there at all.

A vehicle belonging to the family was found at the bottom of a Mendocinco cliff on March 26, hours after they were reported missing.

Cheryl Hart “sent out a text message 3 in the morning on Saturday morning, saying that she was sick, but nobody's been able to get a hold of her, talk to her or seen her since that text message. Or her wife, which is Jen, so we're just concerned” the friend can be heard saying in 911 audio obtained by KOIN.

In the days after the crash, authorities said they found the remains of Jennifer Hart, 38, Sarah Margaret Hart, 38 and their three adopted children, 19-year-old Markis, 14-year-old Jeremiah and Abigail, also 14. A body later identified as Sarah Hart was found by locals a few weeks later on April 8.

Data retrieved from the vehicle's software suggests Jennifer intentionally drove off the scenic cliff. Authorities previously said the car appeared to have left the highway for a dirt turnout and then accelerated until if flew off the cliff and dropped 100 feet into the waters below.

Their remaining two children, Hannah and Devonte Hart, have not been located, though investigators believe the entire family was in the SUV at the time of the incident.

The house was found to be “extremely clean and ... very sterile,” wrote Clark County Sheriff 's Office Detective Joe Swenson.
