Purple gaze in hunt for new ‘Prince’
The Purple One may be gone, but you haven’t missed your chance to star in a video featuring his songs.
A video for previously unreleased Prince music is being shot in the city this week, according to a casting call posted by Backstage.
“Casting a music video for a new Prince album of unreleased music,” the post reads.
There’s no indication of what song the footage will be in support of, but a posthumous Prince album of previously unreleased material is due out on Sept. 21.
Called “Piano and a Microphone 1983,” the album will feature tunes discovered in Prince’s vault on a cassette tape at the artist’s Paisley Park Studios recording complex in Minnesota.
Prince was 57 when he died of an overdose of the opioid fentanyl in 2016.
